Helpful tips for buying palm trees

Size of a palm tree

It is important to know that the price of a palm tree is determined by the height of the trunk, this level shows how old the tree is real, let you not be fooled by the total height including the leaves so they are sometimes forced ..., the height and thickness of the trunk is also a guarantee for the health and hardiness of the tree.

How do you measure the trunk, see example below:

- Trunk height = 20 to 30cm
- Total height = 130 to 150cm

Facts about the hardiness of the function of a palm tree trunk height

Basic rule: if the stem height > 40 cm it may be unscheduled in the ground (from March to late August) and can survive without protection Belgian winter. If the trunk height is less than 40 cm we recommend it in the pot and keep it from permafrost in a sheltered place to hibernate (frost-free basement, garage or gazebo, ...).
